Muskegon Window Tinting We all have areas and window sets in our homes and business where heat gain drives the air conditioning to struggle and cause discomfort. This causes an unnecessary workload on our systems drawing more energy than we need. Stopping the heat gain AT the window will allow the units to perform as designed, therefore saving money better spent on mandatory winter expense. In my nearly 30 years in the window film industry, I have seen first hand where a window film application has eliminated the need for A/C all together. Link: http://www.muskegonwindowtinting.com/ |

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE Alistair McConnachie writes: Independent Green Voice advocates Energy Independence. A sovereign individual, community or nation is able to provide for its own energy needs. It should be the goal of a nation aspiring to sovereignty to achieve Energy Independence. A nation which is unable to achieve Energy Independence may become perilously reliant upon outside sources, or may even need to develop imperialistic policies which threaten other nations. Tiny wind-power system The winds of change will blow a little stronger this morning when a small Scottish company launches Britain's first wind power system designed to be fitted on almost any roof or wall to supplement electricity from the grid. Just two days after Britain's biggest offshore wind farm started generating electricity off the north Wales coast, the designers of the tiny domestic unit believe they can provide up to 15% of the annual electricity needs of an average house for a one-off cost of ?750 - bringing green electricity into the price range of most families. The machine, a 3ft by 2ft sealed box with three blades which face into the prevailing wind, is backed by the energy minister, Brian Wilson, who is a paid consultant for Windsave, the company behind it. Green Power and Market Research News The World Bank will purchase renewable energy for all of its electricity usage at its Washington, D.C. office from WindCurrent, a Maryland-based company that sells wind power to the mid-Atlantic power grid. This purchase will represent enough electricity to power almost 8,000 average homes for a year, and is equivalent to eliminating the carbon dioxide emissions of more than 10,000 cars for a year or planting roughly 15,000 acres of trees, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency figures. Produced using conventional electricity sources, including coal and gas, this would have generated an estimated almost 60,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Link: http://www.wapa.gov/ |
